Diego Mantovani

Professional Physiotherapist, Specialist in Sports Rehabilitation

Diego Mantovani is an experienced physiotherapist with an international career in professional sports, particularly in football. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in 2000 and from the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2002. In 2005, Diego completed a Master's in Manual Therapy in Milan and has participated in several additional courses, including musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnosis at MV Clinic in Madrid in 2018.

Diego's career began in 2002 at the Gulliver Clinic in Modena, where he focused on sports rehabilitation. During this time, he worked with the Casa Modena Volleyball team, celebrating a victory in the Italian Championship in the 2002/2003 season.

From 2005 to 2010, he served as the Head of Physiotherapy at U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, supporting the team during its successful achievements, including promotion to Serie C1 and subsequently Serie B.

In 2011, Diego moved to Russia, where he became the Physiotherapy Coordinator for the first team at Spartak Moscow. Over the next eight years, he was responsible for physiotherapy assessments, injury prevention, treatment, and functional rehabilitation of players before returning to the main squad. During his time at Spartak, he collaborated with renowned coaches such as Valeri Karpin, Unai Emery, Murat Yakin, and Massimo Carrera. He also spoke at international conferences on muscle injury treatment and post-operative rehabilitation of knee joints.

From 2019 to 2023, Diego worked as a physiotherapist for the first team of Paris Saint-Germain, further refining his skills while working with world-class football stars. In July 2023, he accepted an offer from Al-Hilal Football Club in Saudi Arabia, one of the most prestigious clubs in the region, and moved to Saudi Arabia.

Currently, Diego works as a physiotherapist for one of the most well-known football clubs in Europe – AC Milan, where he continues his path in sports rehabilitation and upholding the highest standards of player health.
